Late drop goal gives Lyon OU narrow win over Edinburgh

Fabrice Estebanaz scores a late drop goal to give Lyon OU a 21-19 win against Edinburgh.

A late Fabrice Estebanez drop goal has given Lyon OU a slender 21-19 win over Edinburgh in Pool Four of the European Rugby Challenge Cup.

Edinburgh made a fast start and took the lead when Sam Hidalgo-Clyne kicked a penalty, before Tim Visser darted down the wing to score a ninth-minute try.

Lachie Munro scored a penalty for the hosts, before Dougie Fife scored Edinburgh's second try as he scooped up a loose ball and crashed over the line.

Romain Loursac scored the French side's first try shortly before the break after a quick switch to the left found the full-back for a simple score.

Edinburgh kicked another penalty before Damien Fitzpatrick scored Lyon's second try to take the difference down to just one point.

Munro put the home side ahead with another penalty, before Hidalgo-Clyne hit back with 10 minutes remaining.

Estebenez then scored the winning drop goal with only four minutes left on the clock.
